Extraordinary Minister of
Holy Communion

Description:
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion assist the priests and deacons of the parish in distributing Communion at Mass.  Participating in this wonderful gift to God's people is a great joy and a source of satisfaction. 

Extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion are needed on all weekdays, weekends, holy days, and funeral  Masses. 

Requirements:

• You must have a special love and care for the Eucharist and all those who share in the Body and Blood of the Lord. 
• Must be at least a junior in high school
• Must have received the Sacrament of Confirmation
• Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church
• Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are expected to show the greatest reverence for the Most Holy Eucharist by their demeanor, attire, and handling of the consecrated bread and wine. 

Training:
Guidelines for the ministry are provided, and an evening of spiritual formation and practical training is required before a person can be commissioned to distribute Communion.  Inquire directly with the Pastor or the Worship Director.
